Who are we?

MUSEUMS CANADA / MUSEES CANADA was born out of the need to support those who work in museums, galleries, science centres and related cultural institutions across Canada.

Initially hosted by THEMUSEUM in Kitchener the MUSEUMS CANADA has grown organically with like-minded organizations coming together seeking a new vision. With the guidance of Capacity Canada individuals representing museums, zoos, artists as well as the Indigenous community helped forge a new path forward.

Accessible, affordable, year-round networking, development-oriented and mentorship-driven, became the catalyst for MUSEUMS CANADA. Bringing together emerging and seasoned colleagues and important suppliers from across Canada for a creative, meaningful, and fun experience became the core mandate.

Please follow us on our social media links below where you can post comments about our sector, job postings, questions for others, seek a mentor or celebrate successes. We are listening and want to hear from you and help build a collaborative and visionary future for museum workers.
